#65 - chile ayuda a chile

I don't know why I started with the squared crops, but I like them, especially in self-portraits.

This is the sticker they gave us after we donated money for the Telethon for the Chilean earthquake. +

#64 - nerd rocker

Cool people play in a rock band. Geek people play RockBand® for X-BOX360.

I don't think you will notice it here, but there's something missing in this self-portrait, that was present in all the previous ones. Okay, don't try to guess, because it is just a small detail: it's my gold dolphin necklace. It was stolen from me when I was on the bus. Want to know the story? I am telling you about my day, since this is a personal blog, DUH.

So today, I went with Vale, Marti and some Marti's friends to do some volunteering, this time, asking for money. It was actually really nice, people were so generous, some of them didn't have too much, but it was something, much better than nothing. We were out there from midday to 5pm and gathered about $50000 (like 100 dollars), which is quite good for a couple of girls just asking for money on the streets (don't worry, we had little boxes and shirts, we weren't just begging, we even had an authorisation letter). So then, we went to another neighbourhood of our city with our hearts filled with the joy of helping, to an old woman's house whose grandson had been disappeared since the earthquake. The thing is that, while we were getting there by bus, a guy stole my favourite necklace while getting off the bus. He actually pulled it off my neck (it kind of hurt afterwards, because he did it really quickly, without even seeing, so he scratched my neck), it was really scary. I was still scared for like 20 minutes (until we got to the old woman's house), but when she told us that they found her grandson alive, I forgot about my worries and just became very happy about her, it was such a selfless happiness! ♥

Ufff, so I finally got home (after going for something to eat with my dad, because he said that a piece of cake would cheer me up and it did). I watched yesterday's episodes of Skins and The Office... THEY WERE EXCELLENT! So I was even happier! Not so much, then, when I heard that maybe Alice in Wonderland will be premiered in May, because of the earthquake and stuff. But now, I'm fine ;D +

As you've noticed, this has been a day of a lot of ups and downs, but more of the first ones, which is good :)

That's all, folks!

#62 - jai guru deva om

Today, a a friend of mine and her friend came over after we went to donate some more food for the people affected by the earthquake and they told me they loved what I did to my ceiling, which made me realise that I had not shown you my ceiling! Well, here it is. Okay, it doesn't show that much, but this is my favourite view of my bedroom. Here you can have a better look at the ceiling though (remember that this was painted by a 17-year-old who has no painting skills). +

That's all, my dearest readers!

P.S. Those things at the back forming a heartshape are the months of a calendar I bought from Alicia Bock.
P.S.2. PlayStation2 MIA WASIKOWSKA ANSWERED MY QUESTION in those fan questions things where you think you're question will never be answered (but mine was!!! ). Just click here (my name is actually spelled with a single L, but who cares).

#60 - it's the end of the world as we know it

Today, I went with a friend asking for food from house to house so we could send it to the people affected by the earthquake. There were a lot of people who were so nice to us, they were touched, because we were gathering all the food walking! There actually was a woman who gave us her number in case we needed a car to go to Concepción or wherever. AGHHH she was the nicest!
After we finished and our hands couldn't handle any more weight (we had like 4 full bags each), we went to my friend's house to leave everything and realised how much we walked! It didn't seem so much, actually. But it was nice :)

Well, the photo was taken during our walk, before entering one of the streets where we gathered most of the food (and where the nice woman lived). I wanted to take a self-portrait, because my hair looked nice and would've looked perfect against sunset, but when my friend called, I went immediately to her house, and it was worth it. +

So that's all, folks!

P.S. As you can see I don't have photoshop and I don't edit my photos too much. Actually, the most elaborated thing I do with Picasa is this gradual Black&White thingy. The rest is a camera issue, like when I set the ISO, exposure and that kind of stuff.

(Canada won the gold medal in Ice Hockey!)
(The lighting outside was so weird...)

My thoughts and my heart to my fellow Chileans affected by the eartquake and the tsunami in Talcahuando and Juan Fernández islands.

#58 - earthquake

I don't know if you already heard about it, but today at about 3:30 in the morning, there was an earthquake in Chile. It had a magnitude of 8.8. Actually it was much more intense than Haiti's earthquake, but Chile is well prepared for this things, since it's in the border of the South American tectonic plate, so buildings are constructed thinking of the earth movements. Still, there have been deaths. Bridges, churches, houses have been destroyed.

Fortunately, nobody I know was injured and in my house there were no major damages. Some weak furniture fell off (it actually was full of heavy stuff, like detergent, fabric softener, etc), paintings and photos which were hanging on the wall (there was one, actually that fell from the third floor to the second, and no one knows how ö), and as you can see, all the wine glasses from the cupboard.

So, well, this was the first severe earthquake I have been in, and it was really scary. In fact, after if was over (it lasted more than 2min), I was shaking, even though I was far more calm, my body wasn't. But now, I'm fine, everyone's I know is fine, even my dog :)

Now, it's 12:40 and there are still aftershocks every now and then, but really low.+

That's all, my dear blue people.
